On May 5, 2009, over 350 people attended the Next Step Breakfast at the National Press Club. Master of Ceremony Juan Williams, news analyst and broadcast journalist, welcomed the guests. A choir from The Seed School of Washington, D.C. inspired attendees with their poignant presentation of the song "Everything Will Be All Right." Next Step program participant Ben Morgan and volunteer Robin Melchiorre shared stories of how their lives had been changed by Samaritan Ministry. The debut of the film featuring Next Step program participants gave a stark look at the lives of ten people who needed help to make changes and how essential the Next Step program is in their lives. Over $200,000 was pledged to support Samaritan Ministry and the Next Step program.
